Questions- How was I selected and the audition process

I have been sent many questions personally about my experience on Wheel of Fortune.  So, in order not to have to repeat myself several times I am going to answer them.

I signed up online to be a contestant for Wheel a while back.  However in June I received an email to submit a 60 second video answering specific questions.  I jotted down a few things and recorded my video in 2 takes and uploaded it to the site.  About 2 weeks later, I received another email advising me that I had been selected to audition in person at the Venetian.

I showed up at my appointed time and chatted with a few other people that were also auditioning.  It was about 60 or so initially.  We were led to our seats, mine on the front row, and asked to fill out paperwork.  Once we completed the paperwork, we watched some Wheel videos old and new.  Then we began to play the game.  They had a paper wheel that they spun and they display a puzzle on a screen.  We were told to speak LOUD and CLEAR.  You had 3 seconds to request a letter and you had to keep the game moving. They wanted us to spring out of our seats when our name was called.

I began to prepare for my name to be called.  I removed my heels and the ladies on either side of me asked why did I do that.  By that time my name was called and I sprung out of my seat and responded loudly and clearly, HERE!  I had a huge smile on my face and my excitement was overflowing.  I called my letters loud and clear and solved my puzzle.  The whole room cheered me on and I was whooping and hollering like I had won the 1 million dollar prize.  I actually won a wheel of fortune t-shirt that says "Spin this".

Everyone was called one by one or team by team.  Some had to be reminded to speak loud and clear.  Many solved the puzzle as well.  We then had to take a test.  We had a "hang man" type test handed to us and we were given the categories of each set.  We had five minutes to complete as many as we could.  They had a few letters already filled in.  When time was called we handed them in and waited for the results.  While waiting they took head shots of everyone.  After about 30 - 45 mins. they entered the room with the results.  They called out names and let you know if you made it to the next round.  I MADE IT!!!  Everyone said, well we knew you  made it.  :)  About half were dismissed some were separated from their partners.

We played another round of games against another contestant, and I was just as excited as the first round.  This time I hit a bankrupt and did not solve the puzzle.  Everyone was afforded an opportunity to play again.  After all of that, we received more information about the show.  At the end they told us "if" we heard from them in 2 weeks via a letter, we had made it as a contestant and that it could take up to a year to be selected for a show.  It could be anywhere and you would be responsible for  your own travel and lodging.

On day 13 I received a call from the producer, Gary, informing me that I had made it and that I would be taping in Las Vegas on July 26th.  WOOOOHOOOOO!
